This is devastating news. Her work has been instrumental to most of what I do today :( I have had the opportunity to only hear her speak once at a conference and was hoping to meet her in person some day. Not a great news to start the year.
Eleanor Maguire, who died 4 January at age 54, pioneered the famous London taxi-driver study and naturalistic approaches for studying spatial and episodic memory in people.

I am currently on my way to Budapest for Emerging Technology Conference happening at MOME. I will talk about our long ongoing project studying digital twins of nature for research and well-being purposes. Excited to meet new scientists and artists and forge new connections.

While researching a topic, I found that in 95 Dan Ariely (RIP), published a paper Towards Quantifying Depth and Size Perception in Virtual Environments with William Gibson and it is eating me that I can't figure out if it is THE William Gibson or not doi.org/10.1162/pres... Somebody got a clue?

I have had my year long hiatus from coding in javascript. I missed it. But what I haven't missed is solving problems for 3 hours before finding out there is an issue with the library (and not a small one, React in this case). JS community should really slow in pushing "production ready" code.
