Have the basics of Otja's animations and functionality made now. Will be adding more dialogue in the future, and of course her and the teleportation archway will be at the destination too haha, she doesn't just zap you there 😆

Feels even better now after the updates, nice work! Those pesky side-angle shots definitely feel more doable now 😆

Absolutely lovely work as always! Visuals/audio/polish are 10/10 and the one-button shooting mechanic is addictive and fun 😁. Ran well on windows/firefox for me too.

WIP of the portal visuals for Helmet Head. The idea is the cyclops lines up her magical eye with the portal arch, it opens wide to fill the space, and starts up this swirly animation that shows your destionation.
Then you step into the eye...

I've been mocking up some ideas for the hub biome in Helmet Head, and the portal that will teleport you between biomes. I'm liking the vibe of this so far. The setting will be the site of an ancient, titanic battle. Still needs more to bring that across.

Helmet Head is my action #roguelike project. Fight your way through the Plane of the Forgotten using various weapons, upgrades, perks and helmets.
Use your weapon upgrades, items and the environment to take advantage of the elemental combo system and thwart your foes!

It's bone animation using a bunch of Skeleton2Ds setup with IK 😎. And to link the bones to the sprites I'm using RemoteTransform2D nodes. Although now that I think on it, just making them children of the bones would be simpler 😅.

Something a little different. An in-editor look at what the boss phase 2 scene looks like after all the bones and IKs are set up. In the interest of being able to see anything, I hid the bone gizmos though 😂

A little early sneak peak at the boss fight I've been working on for the castle zone. It's still only quite roughly blocked out and is missing a lot of detail, but I'm happy with the composition overall.

Did a couple of runs this eve. Was good to see my old friend, Cyclone Strike again 😁. Couldn't make it past this guy though 😂, but I'll be back 😈
Also, the combat in this game is legit some of the most satisfying side-scrolling combat I've ever played. Hats off, man, you've made an absolute banger!

Instead of the urgent task of fixing bugs this weekend, I spent the time trying to add some detail to the castle environment 😅. So far, this is just a test room where I'm throwing things together to see how they fit. Liking it so far!

Messing around with freezing/melting mechanics now for the liquids. Here I'm making a little ice skating area using the Water Stone and Ice Stone, and then melting it with the Fire Stone.
Works with poison (and any liquid) too, but melting the poison is more dangerous 😂

Made a lightning stone. And of course had to add conductivity to all the liquids. So now if something (like an enemy getting hit with lightning damage, or the lightning stone) shocks a liquid the electricity will travel through it. Works with oil, water...blood 😈

Did a bit more tinkering last night with the damage element system juice. Added a little animation for when they get added to and removed from the stack, and gave the explode animations a bit of slide.
Also made a slightly more appropriate test dummy 😎

In between finishing up the elemental damage/arrow systems, I've been having some fun messing around in-game with the Poison Stone/Furnace Helm combo 😀
The poison now burns with poisonous flames and releases poisonous vapur to boot!
