A few times already this week, when I booted up the test build of my game, I was struck by a beautiful vista and had to take a screenshot of it. That's a good sign that your game is almost done, isn't it?

Saw this cool multiplayer museum exhibit where you can spraypaint patterns on a 3D triceratops (it tracks where you paint via a laser in the nozzle of the spray can, so clever)

Wild, I’m at the dentist and they’ve replaced their stack of magazine with an app that will allow you to read any magazine or ebook for free on your phone while you sit inside the geofence of this location

Adaptive Probe Volumes in Unity 6 are a revelation, by the way.

Before, I had to wait a long time for a GI bake, deal with hundred MBs of lightmaps, and had to manually edit lightmap UVs 💩

Now I can do a fresh GI bake in ~2 minutes, and the lightmap set is ~80 MB! Plus: automatic probe lighting 🤩

I've been tinkering with an old project to get a feel for Unity 6, and on a whim I decided to add a flashlight and look-at head-turning, and it's such a fun addition.

I’ve gotten into carpentry - made some radiator enclosures, and a wall-sized closet for the kids room. Some ProBuilder skills overlap 😄

I’m finishing up a two-year contract this week, so my mind is finding room again to think about gamedev! Felt like opening up my little soulslike side project today, and went to town lighting and color grading some placeholder scenes 🎨

Gosh I don't think I've ever used a photo mode as much as in SW Outlaws. The game is simply stunning to look at and move through.

Testing the new character designs in the game. What I love about working with 2D characters is that you can just drop a fresh PNG in the project folder and everything automatically updates!

Getting back into Procreate with my new iPad Mini 🎨🖌️

I think I'm going to love having this with me on the go. Parenthood means finding ways to be productive in odd nooks and crannies away from my desk, so this might be a really good enabler for that.
