As a dentist I will share nutrition information with my colleagues because the offices are always busy which means if you don't pack a lunch, you'll either order out or not eat at all. It's important to eat a good breakfast and pack good options to fuel us during the day @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

For thanksgiving I was most excited for the roast chicken. (you're probably wondering who eats chicken on thanksgiving) I unfortunately don't like turkey so my family makes me chicken or beef for thanksgiving so I have a protein to eat. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I would recommend this article because it gives a good guideline for parents to follow to ensure that their kids are eating a broad spectrum of food because that ensures that they are receiving the nutrition they need. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social www.cdc.gov/nutrition/fe...

Tom's story proved that losing weight isn't linear. Expecting to get it right from the first try or sticking to some extreme diet is not realistic. It also shows that there is not a one size fits all way of losing weight. Its the small changes that have lasting effects. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I learned that metabolism rates are different for everyone. While it might be very easy for someone to lose weight, its not as easy for everyone to lose that weight or to have the same eating habits. Assuming a certain eating habit will lead to a certain body is wrong. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Cheapness of unhealthy vs. healthy food: I find it very difficult to eat healthy when I am at school because all the options around are very unhealthy. A whole burger meal can cost below $15 while a small salad can cost almost $20 that is not even filling. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I take vitamin D and I learned that for best absorption I should take it with a meal that contains healthy fats, like eggs, avocado, or olive oil. Pairing it with vitamin K2 and magnesium can also help supports bone health and calcium balance @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Finding new nutritious foods to try/ add into our diet is important. Having the same foods on rotation because they're healthy gets boring and unmotivating. Eating healthy should be fun, and trying new recipes and new ingredients is just the way to do it! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Intermittent fasting has become the new trend for weight loss, but scientific research has shown that it is actual not as effective as it seems. It is more important to focus on eating balanced meals and exercising if you want to see effective results for losing weight. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

1 banana (carbs, fiber), 1 egg (protein, fat), 1 cup oat flour (carbs, fiber, protein) and chocolate chips (they're just yummy😋). This balanced, nutrient dense pancake recipe is a swap for my fav breakfast that helps me feel satiated and energized and it's just as delish! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

When I recorded what I ate it was easy because I commute to school so I have to pack my food for the day. I realized that this helps me stay healthy and intentional about my eating. I was surprised at the difference of my eating habits when I pack it vs when Im home @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Something interesting that I learned this week was that on average a person only needs 42 grams of protein a day. I used to think it was 1 gram per pound of body weight! Also I learned that vegetarians and vegans get 70% more protein than they need everyday! wow! 🤯 @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Totally! This goes along with my comment about healthy eating is fuel for our body to work at its best of its ability. It's not a change that can be done overnight and the results will not be overnight either. It's a lifestyle and a form of self care! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
Health isn’t about reinventing everything at once. It’s about adding one better choice at a time. More movement, more fiber, more sleep. Less stress about doing it “perfectly.” Small actions, repeated, are what really stick. #RealWorldNutrition

Headlines on articles aren't always true. Broad statements about foods being "bad"aren't always true. For example, some can claim that dates are "unhealthy" because they're high in sugar, while others may find them to be a great replacement for artificial sweeteners #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
