When are we gonna do 2022 or something. This old music is so cringe.

Looks like a pretty cool comp even though I haven't heard of most of the bands!

Yeah, Colorblind James himself - Chuck Cuminale - died in 2001, but I think for their final decade they mostly just played around Rochester while still sporadically recording up until the end. 1992's SOLID! BEHIND THE TIMES is my favorite.

Always weird seeing how the UK critics embraced The Colorblind James Experience (#25 of the year!), a band that I loved but played to small audiences here in their hometown. Did anyone else nominate it?

I got it! I had already voted - there are two kinds of people ...

For me it was probably hearing 82/83 songs like "Let's Go to the Bed" and"The Walk" which were non-album singles. I thought they were fine. College radio also played the title track from FAITH which I used to run screaming to turn off.

Coming up very soon on my list!

Never liked The Cure outside of some of the peppier singles. I've bought three of their albums and sold them back to the shop (yes, DISINTEGRATION was one of them). PHM is fine though TDS is probably better. I do think The Cure will win the tournament. I let my Pixies v1.0 love cloud my thinking.

Is he too far gone for you? :)

"And I saw you in my nightmares
But I'll see you in my dreams
And I might live a thousand years
Before I know what that means"

Nice! Haven't heard them in over 20 years since SONGS ABOUT THE OCEAN. Not sure why I didn't seek out other releases as I really liked that one. Thanks for reminding me!
