Meanwhile, the same editorial board was shooting emails warning Epstein about investigations and claiming every Iraqi had WMDs.

But — right now — I can't come up with a long list of things left to gain from wearing the jersey of a team led by masochistic losers, historic traitors, and gleeful genociders.

I'm sure many among a hypothetical, future left party in the US will be from current Democrat and Progressive circles, in all likelihood the majority of them. Maybe there will be another historic party realignment that keeps the name only.

I'm not convinced any group actually accountable to the people would ever be tolerated to carry the name by party leadership, and I'm more skeptical such people would find value in holding on to the legacy of Chuck fucking Schumer.

Yeah, yeah, I get it..no third parties in America. But we currently don't have a SECOND party in America. I guess people can talk me down from a maximalist position here, but I only hear common sense when I say: whatever comes next, I'm not sure it's called "The Democratic Party."

See a recent well-publicized mayoral race for some choice previews of the names such brave people can hope to be called by their own party.

Even if there's some post-Bernie insurgent group within the party ranks that manages to assume control (without BILLIONS in corporate donors, mind), they would be branded something besides Dems. BY the Dems!

In politics, the party’s brand is synonymous with tactical suicide and cowardice. This has been true for, at this point, decades. The contradictions in the shutdown self-destruction are so extreme and baffling that they can't be denied.

Killing hundreds of thousands of Americans as a poker chip in a game where the opponent ALWAYS lies and cheats. For over a decade. Either all 10 senators are so senile they're Lucy-with-the-Football levels of gullible, or they were oligarchic Republicans from the jump. I believe the latter.

It is blatant political suicide to trade the healthcare of millions of Americans for...literally nothing. Trump got to starve people and steal SNAP. Dems are handing him a bouquet for it in exchange for a PROMISE to vote on an extension: a vote that no only won't win, it won't even be held.
