Just collected this wonderful book. It doesn’t shy from the difficulties of losing a loved one but might really support children in your care if used with additional sensitive support. ❤️‍🩹

Spotted these at edge of the school field just now. Still not out full but great colour!

Had the best day facilitating an InSet day on embedding SEMH into whole school culture.

Huge thanks to @rachtomlinson.bsky.social for generously sharing her experiences via video link. She’s about 16 years ahead of us today 😃

Fab trip to London today to share a focus on Co-Regulation.

We started with some feel-good Emotional Contagion’ which created lots of smiles, some foot tapping and humming.

Lots of interaction with the room. Thank you Phoenix School.

Taking a focus on co-regulation to a group of TAs in London. We will be starting with some positive emotional contagion 👌

Are you setting the weather (emotional contagion) or bringing the umbrella (co-regulation)?

Looking forward to sharing with TAs in London later this week.

We will be starting with some positive emotional contagion 😀👌

1/2Setting your Direction of Travel is the 1st step. Make it a solid one.

The journey may seem overwhelming but pragmatism(both macro &micro)can help build the strengths and opportunities for resilience.

My map is the anchor. The nuance will be unique to your school’s strengths & opportunities.

Tell me if your school(s) are rural or urban, without telling me they are rural or urban. School Xmas fair yesterday …

Felt-safety and an attuned relational context can transform learning beyond the fragility of parroting, complying and people pleasing.

Love the small things in my job. I took a pic of this wonderful piece of art before it was taken home. I said I can’t have your face in it because of privacy.

Afterwards she said ‘I was smiling anyway.’ 😍😍

Leaving Behaviourism behind (even greatly reducing it) is tricky, especially the rewards bit.

Mona DelaHooke is a great resource for more understanding about the alternative and my (pinned) podcast is me talking about my views on schools.

For those who think like this, or are curious about thinking more like this, Lori Desautels has an education focus too 👍

If you haven’t come across Mona Delahooke you might be missing out on that deeper understanding of surface behaviours.

Yesterday I visited ‘An Emotionally Available’ school. Roger Mitchell is an inspiration. Such a full and warm welcome throughout the school. #RipplePrimary
