I have officially reached the age where I spotted a scary looking mole and panicked about skin cancer only to discover it was just a bit of chocolate which fell into my jumper from my breakfast croissant and made a splodge on my skin. Crisis averted. The NHS can stand down.

As an American living in the UK I find looking at Bluesky a Pandora's box of "wtf has happened in the US this time". You never know if it's going to be the gov cutting medical research funding, education, the rights of people, or any other subject being thrown out.

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.
