What a way to start a #postdoc! I spent Aug-Sep as part of the #BeyondEPICA campaign @bas.ac.uk, handling unique a #icecore that likely holds >1.2 million yrs of climate history. 😲 This European collaboration is breaking many records, with an incredible amount of data waiting to tell its story... ✨

💡Our results show this high-mountain site preserves valuable environmental records and opens new possibilities for understanding Southern Hemisphere #climate from the heart of the westerly wind belt. But time is running out - rapid #warming puts these unique records at ever-increasing #risk. 😰 2/2
