things what move
Yes, there was a post-war plan to move the existing tram lines in Leeds city centre below ground. Sadly this did not come to anything as money was short at the time. Likely Leeds would still have trams today if it had, instead it lost them in the 1950s.

The network was set on the principles that BR through its EPS and ENS subsidiaries would be able to make an 8% return on investment through the routes. Such a constraint had put paid to motorail services (Kensington-Narbonne etc) but sleeper trains were still seen as feasible.

At the time, the Regional Eurostar and Nightstar products were still on the cards.

Yes I think Entroncamento is most like. I went back through my pictures from last time I was there, I remember seeing some WL stock.

Feeling the British 🇬🇧 influence in St-Raphael. This road (Avenue de Valescure) features driving on the left and a gastro-pub.

Probably the last time I pass this way before the axe falls. Nightjet at Paris Gare de l'Est with portions for Berlin and Vienna.

Fortunately Oui au Train de Nuit are on hand, campaigning against the French government's removal of subsidies.

Other reasons given include anti-social behaviour (for which there is v low tolerance) and fare evasion. See Belfast Glider for a more successful recent example. TfL and Merseytravel are both introducing multiple-door operation this year with Irizar or vanhool vehicles.

Hi Marco, l work in this area. My understanding is that when we have tried to introduce these concepts (see 'ftr' for an example) these haven't worked out as passenger growth has not been good enough and dwell times did not make up for this. Commercial appetite has not been there to continue it.

Is the Canton still arguing for 4 tracks underground? The project page has images with just the 2 tracks.

Well it turns out DB was right this time! Right about Nykøbing F but DSB reckons Padborg rather than Hamburg. We must be splitting somewhere...

According to DB Navigator, my train to Hamburg is going via Nykøbing F and then presumably on a boat 🚢 (it's not).

In 1967 it was slightly better than annual (pictured), but by 1988 it was very much once per year.
