The Government has published plans to transfer the functions of Healthwatch England to the Department of Health, and
transfer the functions of local Healthwatch into Integrated Care Boards and local authorities.

Our Comms officer Ella and volunteer Kim went to the drop-in event organised by LLRICB for the proposed Hinckley Day Case Unit.
The unit is scheduled to open in 2026.

New Healthwatch England research this week highlights the complaints system fails patients, which gov’t has acknowledged in its response. Only 1 in 10 who receive poor care complain, the process leaves people dissatisfied & the NHS doesn’t learn from complaints
