I got to teach my therapist about furries a few weeks ago, and the first thing he said was "wow, that fursona thing sounds incredibly useful for introspection"
And, yeah :)

I can't imagine it would be an issue; diaper plastic is very thin and the spikes look pretty stout. If anything I'd bet this type would work much better than the single-row kind

It's definitely got drawbacks, but I'm just using it to check and make sure everything fits ok. It's pretty cumbersome

Yea! ^.^ the base ended up coming together really fast. In total it's around 2 full days in the shop and a few evenings besides that.
It's been less than 3 weeks from when i first started on the design. Pretty quick, all things considered

Friends Don't Let Friends Buy Lumber
Know the signs of addiction
[it's super rewarding. get yourself a million clamps, a used miter saw, a drill or two, and a pocket hole jig and start attaching things to other things. it's great]
[also, use glue on EVERYTHING. and then use more.]

That's good, because I'm still getting the design right.
So you might need to ask a adult and/or big kid to let you out of 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘣 if the locks malfunction and trap you in 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘣 like a tiny helpless infant

Thank you ^.^ I've wanted to do a project like this for almost ten years, but never really had the right time/space/tools to do it until recently.
It's genuinely been a real treat to see it all come together as it has been so far. Hopefully painting and final assembly go as smoothly

I also did some organizing with the leftover scrap wood. The drill storage in particular (or, more accurately, the lack thereof) was driving me NUTS.
Also a pic of the bars clamped to be sorta where they'll end up

This is my first woodworking project, but I'm learning a lot and enjoying it.
Originally this was supposed to be a refurbishment of a friend's old crib that he built, but it ended up being better to rebuild from scratch. I made blueprints and just went from there
