Happily married older gentleman, slightly left of centre rabble rouser, and dog owner.🇨🇦
We celebrated Thanksgiving Monday evening at my Sister in Law's. Her son is a trained chef so the food was great as usual. After a wonderful meal, we enjoyed sitting around the firepit.

It's our 38th anniversary today, a testament to our enduring love and my wife's infinite patience!

On this day 14 years ago, my son, Michael, passed away as a result of a drowning accident.

Grief is not linear and doesn't fit into nicely defined stages. Time doesn't heal it.

Last night, while walking Juniper, she darted off the sidewalk and into long grass. She caught a mouse which she killed and ate while my wife screamed, "Drop it!"

Juni was likely feral before she was rescued. You can take a dog out of the wild but you can't take the wild out of the dog!

Does anyone else's dog sit on their bum like a human?

One of Juniper's many traits.

Cases of Windmill Cancer were sky rocketing under Biden. It's going to be so much safer when it's replaced by beautiful clean coal?

On Canada Day, on our nation's 150th anniversary, I was at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody, with about 5000 of my fellow Canadians, to see Trooper. It doesn't get any more Canadian than that!

Happy Canada Day!

I can't believe that the Kangaroo didn't become an arch rival.

I made that post 6 months ago. I'm at 5700 followers but I still don't feel like an influencer. I mostly repost and quote so I don't get much engagement.

I plan to write thoughtful posts on important topics. Just kidding! I plan to post funny memes and cute animal pictures.

This picture of me and my Mom (and our dog, Kiko) was taken in 2010. This is how I choose to remember her, not the mere shadow of herself she became when the vascular dementia took over.

The small Rhododendron that was here when we moved in is a giant now!

Here's one of the great mysteries: why do dogs only get diarrhea and need to go out at least once an hour at night?

We're both exhausted 😞

Here's some relief for anyone feeling stressed from too much politics:

Yes, Juniper is not one of those sweet little dogs, but she still looks cute when she's napping.

I helped my wife put together this mini green house.

She growing up flowers lettuce and chives. What did you think she was growing?

Here in Canada, we're allowed to go grow a bit of weed for personal use. My wife and I don't partake: she can't stand the skunky smell

We went on an extra long dog walk tonight to the light display at Coquitlam Town Centre Park. The city leaves the lights up until mid February an now is a good time to see them as it is less crowded, especially tonight with the cold snowy weather.

It's the first major snowfall of winter here in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area. Take care if you're driving. This wet snow is slippery, especially on uphill and downhill roads.

We don't get much practice driving in snow and many cars are running on summer or all season tires.

My return to work has been challenging for all of us, even Juniper.

If you are in Vancouver/Marpole area, I highly recommend the Krepa Cafe at Granville and 64th.

The coffee and crepes are great!

Juniper (Junie)came to us as a Foster for Endless Pawsibilities. She came from Manitoba where she was probably semi-feral.

My wife fell in love and wanted to adopt her. I wasn't sure about adopting.

Now she's grown on me and I can't imagine our home without her.

This is a picture taken this morning from the pier at Rocky Point Park. The fog was so thick, you can't see the mountains on the other side of the inlet.

Missing Michael McDonell today. He passed away in 2013 as a result of a drowning accident and today would have been his 35th birthday.
