Interesting report. But, as far as I know, Japanese strongly prefer Japanese rice. This stems from their belief in the superior quality of local rice and the strong influence of the Japan Agricultural Cooperatives, which restrict imports—contributing to the recent rice crisis in Japan.

Bad papers can do more harm than none...
Definitely quality > quantity. But the challenge lies in how to evaluate 'quality'. I've come across poorly written papers in top journals and seen poor papers get significant citations.
