The southernmost glacier in Norway is about to extinct soon! 😰

Breifonn was not exactly a small glacier at the end of the LIA (6 km²).
But only scattered patches totalising 0.15 km² remain today, meaning disappearance in the next few years... 😱

Great to see Cat Hudson's work on historical landscape change in the South Downs featured on the Countryfile site:

19th-century maps reveal dramatic collapse of meadows in South Downs | Countryfile.com
New study reveals that between 75.6 and 99.9% of traditional meadowland has been lost across the lower Rother catchment in West Sussex since 1840.

Here's a map of UK fire activity in 2025.
2025 was a record year for both number of fires and burnt area in the UK, according to the satellite record.

Very moving article with one of my favourite artists, Ólafur Arnalds, on his collaboration with Talos - another exceptional musician and song writer:

www.thelineofbestfit.com/features/int...
Ólafur Arnalds: "It felt like this music already existed and it was our job to channel it."
When Eoin French – better known as Talos – passed, his friend Ólafur Arnalds was left with demos, grief, and a single question – how do you complete a record when its co-creator is gone?

Mount Rainier’s glaciers are disappearing. What happens when they’re gone?
Several of Mount Rainier’s glaciers are already gone, experts say, and others aren’t far behind. The News Tribune asked what that means for visitors.

Inspired by many, many viewings with my kids, I wrote something for @uk.theconversation.com that imagines how the Arendelle glacier in Disney's Frozen might look after 200 years of climate change:
