Absolutely. I was simply offering a different perspective, but yours is also completely valid 👍

The character limit often makes it hard to condense your thoughts properly. The crowd is obviously an important factor. But fitness, availability, those are bigger ones. And playing on the Sunday would have made those huge factors for Palace. Just bc that game is less important it isn’t unimportant.

Lower priority, but that doesn’t mean you write it off just bc they might be a bit more up for it (I’m not convinced they would be; they’ll be just as drunk on Sunday because it’s a Sunday). When I said irrelevance, I meant Arteta would argue it’s something top players should be able to overcome.

Mikel wants to win both. And I’m not convinced he cares about the fact it’s a night game under lights because he believes the ability of our players makes the crowd an irrelevance. I agree with him and don’t think the game has been made any harder, but that’s just me I guess.

Because it was scheduled for TV.

Don’t think we know. Muscular niggle was all Mikel would say. Press seem to be saying it’s a hamstring, but I also read that he’d done it earlier in the game and played on until HT so that’d make a hamstring very unlikely.

I’m hoping it’s just that. It does make sense. They also have a great chance to go deep in the competition, with him and Haaland.

Not a chance we let him go. His deal doesn’t come to an end for over 2 years, and my guess is he will be on the list to renew soon. Nobody else can be the heartbeat of the team. Eze’s different, he’s the Iniesta to Odegaard’s Xavi. And right now Ethan is closer to an Eze than an Odegaard.

Ahh. I’m like that in terms of watching a movie on TV or the cinema once it’s already started (I’ve got to see the beginning first) but I’m fine with stopping a movie mid-way and starting it back after some time to finish it off.

There needs to be a service that chunks up long movies into short bite sized pieces, perfectly timed to the narrative arc so you get just enough story to enjoy each chunk but can actually find time to watch each chunk between childcare responsibilities. Parents would gladly pay for that convenience.

Bruh. I see one guy being fouled. And it’s not the one who got the decision given against him.

Exactly. It one thing if you were defending the club’s actions over Partey, but I’ve seen you be very critical (and rightly so). But there’s no need to stop supporting them over it, because you support the institution, and you’re critical of those who currently run it.

And even for those of us who did pick a club, the club represents more than those who currently run it. The club has existed long before Partey, long before the Rwanda and Emirates deals. You can love the club and abhor that it’s taking money from genocidal regimes.

Not to mention that the rulers of UAE are both from Abu Dhabi while Emirates are owned by the ruler of Dubai. Yes, both Abu Dhabi and Dubai are part of the UAE, but that’s like blaming AOC for the actions of Trump’s government because they’re both part of the US federal government.

Look, banter and jokes aside, I don’t either. And actually now I think about it Chelsea away may be the easier as I’ve just checked and they’ve dropped points in 50% of their home games this season (while Spurs have only dropped points in 20% of their away games).

That would require him to grow a backbone.

My point about City was to add context that it’s not *this* iteration of City they beat. Of the XI who beat Liverpool, no Donnarumma, Gvardiol, Foden, Silva or Doku in the starting lineup v Spurs. You said Spurs were the easiest of the 3. I agreed (with some banter at their expense bc it’s Spurs).

On goal difference having played an away game less. Other than City, who were still trying to incorporate new players fresh into a new season, the sides they beat are 10th, 15th and 18th in the home league table. They drew with the side in 9th on that table. We’re 2nd, having not lost a game yet.

It depends on how badly we lose to Bayern though.
The way I see it, if we beat Spurs 2-0, then get battered 3-0 by Bayern, we may not recover mentally from that to come back against Chelsea and drop points anyway.
I would fancy a rotated side to beat Spurs. I wouldn’t fancy them to beat Bayern.

I agree, neither team will go for it that aggressively and risk losing it (not to mention the risk players get injured).
It’s just I’ve seen people suggest we should rotate heavily for Bayern bc Spurs and Chelsea either side are more important and I think if we do that, Bayern will smell blood.

Evenly, unless I know someone didn’t have alcohol (in which case that person pays for what they ate and we split the rest evenly). Or if someone’s treating they can pay the whole thing. But those who pay every bill based on what they ordered? Fuck off with that shit.
