The tolerant left you're looking for is across town.
-hundred thousand to a few million every year, statistically more than a few mass-murders are stopped, but hard to say how many given how rare they are.

Disregarding the fact that mass-shootings that don't occur overwhelmingly won't make the news given the fact they didn't happen, I think I read about half a dozen that were thwarted in the past year. Maybe that was their goal, maybe not. Considering defensive-gun-use stats vary between a few

A staggering number of cops are domestic abusers nitwit - and more to my point; a concerning number of them have used confiscation orders to disarm those that they've abused.

I'm going to refer to my original rebuttal, "dense".

What difference would that make? He still got shot because he chose to engage the shooter up close, it's an admirable choice IMO but that doesn't change the fact

Genius-level comment. 👏

Also, red flag laws amount to fuck-all concerning public safety. They're only used to abuse people cops don't like.

-he was retreating to retrieve another rifle or some other weapon. These people don't just "give up" once their weapon is gone, that's not how the real world works.

The shooter was already running away when Ahmed dropped the rifle - which we can assume Ahmed did because he'd been shot twice by then, because he had to put his life in danger to get close to the shooter. The shooter(s) reportedly had multiple weapons nearby in their vehicle; it's safe to assume

And? Not relevant to their point but I also addressed that in my other comment.

What he did was brave and exponentially more risky than confronting the shooter with a gun. He was shot in the process and is lucky to be alive.
December 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM
People who think like you are astoundingly dense. "Oh no I've been defeated, I shall leave in shame" Historically these people only stop when confronted by others willing to shoot back, if they don't shoot themselves first.

And?

The good guy without a gun turned into the good guy with a gun. Did you forget that part?

Resistance to authoritarianism must take place at all times, not simply when an army is invading under swastika flags.

We must never conflate the smooth functioning of the state with freedom itself. Assuming that the "rule of law" is identical with self-determination gives despots a free hand.
