Taking down the Christmas decorations today. Got rid of a lot before Christmas so thought putting away the rest would be easy. It’s not going as planned, why does everything take up as much space as before when there is less of it?! Aargh! 😳😩🤣

Just finished reading my first book of 2025 - We Solve Murders by Richard Osman. I loved it… a fab start to my reading year! ❤️📖📚

I’ve felt like a failure for most of this year for struggling so much with my mental health. Yet this year I literally saved my husband’s life and supported him through his ongoing recovery from a heart attack and two cardiac arrests. I think in 2025 I need to be kinder to myself.

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.

‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.

Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.

Totally agree! 😃
I’ll never understand the “Yorkshire pudding only goes with beef!” people. Imagine restricting yourself like that. Yorkshire pudding goes with everything. Free your minds.

I was very spoilt this Christmas and got lots of lovely presents, including books! Here’s my Christmas book haul! My husband always manages to get me a real mix of interesting books and I can’t wait to read them all! 📚 #BookSky

So I'll be back around then. We'll be trying to raise a bit of money for Centrepoint, bearing in mind that there are a bunch of people who have nowhere to go this evening. gofund.me/637d21d0 ENDS FOR NOW 🎄🛏️

As the person who accidentally began this Yuletide event, it falls to me to give it some kind of shape. Clearly anyone can use hashtags whenever and wherever they like, but given that we've got presents to panic buy and wrap, I usually say "let's get going at 7.30pm?" 3/

Tradition has it (well, for the last 14 years) that photographs are taken of these austere, unkempt and impromptu setups and they're posted on social media with the hashtag #duvetknowitschristmas 2/

So, let's try doing #duvetknowitschristmas here this evening? People are literally Driving Home For Christmas right now, which MIGHT JUST mean that they'll be sleeping somewhere unusual. 1/

It’s been a big week here. I finally started treatment for PTSD (from the trauma of seeing my husband collapse with a cardiac arrest and doing CPR on him) and he finally got the call from DVLA to say he is allowed to drive again from tomorrow. Feels like such a milestone. ❤️
