I’m a nature-loving, soul-searching interfaith minister and end-of-life companion and guide. I walk, observe, photograph and write daily to feed my spirit and nourish me for my work in hospice. I’m also a trauma-informed yoga teacher.
Snowdrops still nod
and lichens
shout
sunshine;
fungi fruits
onwards
and seeds betray
hoarding;
dead leaves
are fading
new shoots
are bursting;
a hare feasts on
spring grass
a mate yet
to find.

Day 4 #monthofministry - INTERFAITH
For me it is time to broaden this to “interspiritual”, a way of working with everyone just as they are, but its origins are important - it was a response to the horrors of the Holocaust, a Christian and a Jew coming together to look for a better future.

3rd February 2025 - Day Three of #monthofministry

VOW:

As I approached ordination in 2021 I voiced my vow,
one I renew each day, one that is simple but profound and meaningful to me.

I have supported others, making and renewing vows, some as death approaches.

1st February 2025 - Day One of #monthofministry. This is the third year that interfaith ministers in the OneSpirit community have used prompts each day of February to explore our ministry and hopefully to increase understanding of our work and of spirituality.

For a better future to be possible
we must learn the lessons of the past.
For a better future to be possible
we must all be prepared to admit
we have biases, prejudices, blinkers
that have kept us apart,
led us to fear the stranger,
turn away from difference,
and think our way not theirs is right.

Yesterday morning I walked in fog clearing my head and preparing my mind to hold space for the family and friends of a lady whose spirit lives on though her body has died.

Introducing my four-legged companions who were both on the bed last night for the very first time…not because we haven’t let them but because our dachshund is highly strung (of course) and hasn’t been able to cope with the cat being there too. #littlewins
