and lichens
shout
sunshine;
fungi fruits
onwards
and seeds betray
hoarding;
dead leaves
are fading
new shoots
are bursting;
a hare feasts on
spring grass
a mate yet
to find.

For me it is time to broaden this to “interspiritual”, a way of working with everyone just as they are, but its origins are important - it was a response to the horrors of the Holocaust, a Christian and a Jew coming together to look for a better future.

VOW:
As I approached ordination in 2021 I voiced my vow,
one I renew each day, one that is simple but profound and meaningful to me.
I have supported others, making and renewing vows, some as death approaches.

we must learn the lessons of the past.
For a better future to be possible
we must all be prepared to admit
we have biases, prejudices, blinkers
that have kept us apart,
led us to fear the stranger,
turn away from difference,
and think our way not theirs is right.
