A stellar performance by @ingvillodden, representing the Trainome Research Group on tonight’s episode of Norge Rundt on national TV! 🎥🌟 @NRKno @HiInnlandet

Previously we found that in vitro Omega-3 supplementation altered metabolism in human cell cultures. But what if we collect the cells before and after in vivo supplementation?

Looking to max time with high oxygen consumption during a workout? Multiple short intervals are a good alternative, and the high oxygen consumption is reached just as “easily” in male and female ⁦@TUrianstad⁩ ⁦@ingvillodden⁩ ⁦@MrMoelmen⁩

Feeling both exhausted and energised after a full day of inspiring meetings at the @rowett_abdn, expertly organised by @DrBMGabriel. Grateful for the warm hospitality and the chance to showcase the work of the Trainome Research Group. Thank you for the invitation! @HiInnlandet

24 hours alone in the mountains feels like several days. By far the best way to unwind.

Had a great time at the 5th International Conference on Precision Nutrition and Metabolism. Loved the focus on informal discussion and networking. Engaging with researchers from adjacent fields brings so many new ideas. Exited about new connections and future collaborations

Nice article (Norwegian) about the Trainome. Our goal, biobank, recent studies, what it's like to be a participant and how willing people of Lillehammer (close to 3% of the population!) are to give us their blood, muscle and time.

Thanks to @FerdinandvW for a good discussion and insightful comments at @KristianLian’s PhD-midway evaluation. Not often we can discuss ribosomal biogenesis and specialisation at this level. @dhammarstrom @ingvillodden @TUrianstad @MagnusHus @Ellefs1s @ofsteng_sjur @HiInnlandet

Can we alter ribosomal biogenesis by manipulating glucose intake after resistance exercise? @KristianLian’s master thesis published just in time for his midway PhD evaluation on Monday. Well done!

Media day today. Two interviews with the local newspaper covering @ingvillodden’s Repeat study and the 10 year anniversary of the Trainome biobank. With an average inclusion of almost 100 per year, we are approaching 1000 individuals.

Only 1.2 kilometres from campus, I should come here more often to clear my head. Got to love how easily accessible nature is in Lillehammer

Amazed and inspired by my granddad at 90 yrs who is “back on track” with his recovery after a knee transplant (Feb) and lung cancer surgery (Sept), securing the 200 m gold at the national indoor championship (1.04.27). #neverquit #lifegoal

Happy to contribute a small part to this one. I thought endurance exercise would increase hemoglobin mass. Turns out I was quite wrong. Yet another reason to hit the gym!

Inspired by @nightsciencepod, we dedicate one lunch each week to a more or less vaguely predefined topic. Aiming for what we should, but seldom talk about. #existentialcrisis Someone will give a 5 min presentation, and we discuss for about one hour. No decisions, only ideas.

Great fun pilot testing the phlebotomy procedure for @ingvillodden’s ongoing repeat study. I have never met anyone this happy to remove her hard-earned haemoglobin

For a long time, I have been trying to avoid the consequences of collecting 950 biopsies and about 400 PBMC samples by getting others to do the RNA extractions. I partly failed. So here we are. About 900 samples left.

This was the last proper hike in these mountains (Langsua) this year. Excellent way to celebrate two weeks of successful baseline testing and biopsies in the REPEAT study and prepare for the third and final round of biopsies in the ReLiEf study (three yrs of data collection).
