Turf guy for the Atlantic Canadian Turf Industry. Former superintendent, former sales guy. If it isn’t fun, reevaluate.
With golf being popular again, a $70 soil test with my recommendations has allowed me to help the folks in my region save upwards of $10000 this Fall on fertilizer costs. Once that is under control, the savings on fungicides start to add up. Next, the client is in GM’s office with case for raise.

I certainly can. Extraction method is Melich 3, sampling depth is 6cm, and the average of the 4 samples is 18ppm P. I do believe that compaction and soil pH are also helping drive visual response at the surface.

Makes sense. Our winters have turned more and more like this over the last decade or so. It’s spreading into NFLD now, bad for ice. White Christmas here this year, which is extremely rare. Perhaps Atlantic Canada took your snow.

I feel like I do know it needs to be someone who looks at the microbial community from the aspect of your unique climate. While you are looking “Teaming with Microbes” by Jeff Lowenfels is a great read. Has some concoctions that were successful in Alaska to tie this back to where I started.

I do love croquet, it’s wicket. 😂

In general, don’t question nice lawns, although I suppose ones that require fungicide should be axed. There is a whole world happening outside your front door for you to get wrapped up and take pride in. Just press pause on the screen and see for yourself!

Wrong approach on her part. Instead of looking inward and figuring out why her husband would rather torture himself playing a game he isn’t good at over being home with her is the real question. Our society is so quick to blame others, look in a mirror, fix a lot of the problems.

I’m assuming we get a say here? Perhaps Alberta or Quebec look appealing?

I have an Australian Labradoodle. Doesn’t shed, hypoallergenic, weighs 40lbs and is so intelligent. I’m no dog trainer, this was important. The trick is to get the small one, they can be big. Best decision my wife ever made for our family. I fought it the whole way, now we are attached at the hip.

If the putter looks good to you behind the ball, and feels good when the ball hits it, that’s the one you use. I wasted years of good scores trying to make the putter feel good to me. Same goes with clubs. I went back to blades after years away and fell in love with a well struck shot again.

Took this picture today of a green in fine condition at the end of rainy season near Bangkok. Bring on winter. #TurfTourism
