Apathy is the enemy of democracy.

Proudly served my country both as a member of the military and in government. I won’t surrender to fascism.
Next you’ll tell me that it’s Elon Musks best interest to suck up to China.
Another thing about Trump's tariff war is that Mexico was actively working to replace manufacturing from China to lower costs, provide new jobs, and compete on the global market. China was also heavily investing in Mexico to prevent local ownership. Trump's current attack is 100% favorable to China.

We need to embrace anger and frustration over apathy. The Dems aren’t rising to the occasion and they haven’t since 2016.

The moral high ground isn’t working and we’re watching democracy demolished.
I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO
January 31, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Taking the moral high ground hasn’t worked for 8 years. Why are they still trying now?
Washington is full of rule-following valedictorians who were inspired by the West Wing and did Model UN and moot court and studied their heroes and who believe in using government to help people.

That's nice, but you need to learn how to swing on the illiterate bullies who steal lunch money.

Conflating credibility/trustworthiness with "self importance" is exactly what Musk did when he took over.
January 31, 2025 at 6:43 PM
I know comments like this are controversial. We’re watching democracy disband while being expected to play nice.

This isn’t a right or left issue, this is a group of oligarchs controlling almost every form of media so we’ll focus our attempts on each other instead of them.
I think it already is.

But seriously. Don’t call them names. We want the door open for them when they realize the mistake they made.

We are for a better America. Not a vindictive America
Hey Mark do you think voters remorse will ever hit the magat crowd
I Doubt It

PLEASE. BEFORE WE LOSE DEMOCRACY TO APATHY. DEMS NEED TO CHANGE THE STRATEGY. THEY LOST TO THE MANOSPHERE.
@corybooker.com hello I used to run the Wendy’s Twitter account and I am begging you to let me help you with the dems social media strategy, I will literally do it for free at this point

Call him out. Normalize this from the Dems, no more high ground.
Bodies are still being pulled from the Potomac.

The President and extreme MAGA Republicans are blaming women and people of color for the deadly plane crash.

At the same time, they are dismantling the Federal Aviation Administration as we know it.

Disgusting.

It was never about eggs. The working class is going to feel this significantly more than our oligarchs. And I’d wager a bet they’ll use the tariffs as justification for price increases well after the tariffs are removed.
Trump says US will place 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico, Canada
U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday said the United States will put a 25% tariff on imports from Mexico and Canada, repeating his warning to the two countries which are top U.S. trade partners.

And the republicans will still fall in line despite their “concerns”.
Tulsi Gabbard, President Trump’s nominee for director of national intelligence, refused to fully denounce the 2013 leaks by Edward Snowden, eliciting concern from both parties at a combative confirmation hearing on Thursday.

Let’s be honest, we’re all waiting for a hero. Someone who can unify the working class against the elite.

We need to stop waiting and start acting.
January 30, 2025 at 9:49 PM
We can break every campaign donation record but can’t rally behind someone to represent the working class?

This is deeper than the right versus the left.

This too is the way. Take care of other humans. It's our duty to each other.
Some Chicago organizers have been patrolling vulnerable immigrant communities in shifts, making sure their rights aren’t being violated.

This action falls in line with an ongoing mantra heard aloud at protests: “we keep each other safe.”

Let’s say the truth out loud while we can:

1. Trump is currently trying to take over our government and install loyalists.

2. The proposed DOGE cuts seem very close to the amount needed for their corporate tax cuts.

3. Elon Musk bought Twitter to spread far right propaganda.
January 30, 2025 at 9:20 PM
This is bigger than the left versus right. We don’t need to attack the right.

We need for the country at large to see this is the working class versus the elite.

Until both sides can find common ground, the elite will continue to exploit us.
January 30, 2025 at 9:18 PM
Don’t wait until it’s your turn. We need anyone and everyone.

Ever since the election it’s like the Democratic party has mentally quit and with them their supporters.

Apathy is how they win. Chaos is the goal.

We need to rally and come together. Not quit.
January 30, 2025 at 9:13 PM
How many people need to be put into concentration camps before we care?

How many rights will they take from women and any race that isn’t white before we realize this could be any of us.
January 30, 2025 at 9:09 PM
Democracy dies in the dark and we are currently dealing with one of if not the biggest threat to our country in history.

I don’t say that to be hyperbolic. 64 people died last night and 47 couldn’t pretend to care. Immediate push of his agenda.

Don’t wait until they come for you.
January 30, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Does anyone have any references or connections for people or groups who are actively trying to defend democracy?

I’d rather donate my money and time to groups who are actually fighting instead of strongly worded letters.

If you’d prefer, please message me.
