New workout: the antifa fartlek

Start out jogging at a pleasant pace until you find far-right garbage on a lamppost. Scrape the sticker off, then run flat-out to the next lamppost. Rest while checking for more stickers. Repeat until all the trasc is gone.

Last night's Hash was beautiful, even if it was a five mile death march uphill. #boise #running

According to a self-published(?) history of Boise's gay bars I recently found, Shucky's actually turned the Emerald Club gay. Which is wild because I assumed the name was a Wizard of Oz reference and that they'd been a gay bar from the start.
And excerpt of the book reading "By 1976 Mary Ann Kelly was running the Emerald Club. Homosexuals wanting a hard drink would run over for a cocktail or two and soon return to Shuckey's. There was no trouble I know of between the gays from Shuckey's and the long-established clientele of the Emerald, but there was no love lost, either. The mix between Shuckey's and the Emerald Club changed as soon as hard alcohol bars could serve until 2 o'clock and beer bars has to quit serving at 1 o'clock. Suddenly, Mary Ann saw the Emerald fill up every night between 1:30 and 2 o'clock as all the gay drinkers were forced out of Shuckey's and rushed in to order three or four or five drinks before closing time at Mary Ann's hard liquor bar. By ordering before closing time we had until 2:30 to finish those cocktails off!

This was a fun question for those who ran trail tonight: What historic Boise gay bar used to sit at this site. Clue: it was the first explicitly gay bar to open in Boise.
The construction site at the corner of 10th St. And Front St. In Boise. The street signs are clearly pictures, and so is a circled N laid in flour on the sidewalk. There is a fence draped in black and in construction company flyers shielding the work site from view, and partially constructed building that's appears to be a couple dozen stories tall in the background.
