Was in an art museum gift shop earlier, in Milan, and came across these round dice. Never seen them before, but found the idea an interesting hook for teaching around fairness when rolling dice. They're weighted, so it lands without rolling off the table!

I bought one because they look fantastic

Some good stuff from the OAT curriculum at the start of unit NP5 - just happened to be planning the same topic for year 7!

Questions in the image are from the booklet, page 4. There's more in the PPT/booklet that you may find useful

Took a small group who attend Maths Club weekly to the Science Museum today. Had booked "Power Up" not looking at what it was. Turns out it was a gaming room with 160 retro to modern consoles to play. Was in heaven!
Great experience for the kids in the mix of visiting galleries

Asked Google to generate a video of a typical Maths lesson, and it gave this fantastic video - the teacher starts explaining, then abruptly walks away. Made me laugh🤣 (has audio)

In #mathstoday Y12, we were comparing sets of data. Used some fantastic examples from the TS1 AMSP course to talk about why context is important.

Real data about age/ ticket class of survivors on the Titanic. Why higher median for 1st class? Outliers realistic?
Lots of interesting conversation!

I've made some Do Nows / Revision starters for GCSE Statistics
It's aimed at my foundation tier class. However, could also be used with Higher Tier students - just misses higher tier content.

Aiming to make a few more revision resources over the holidays!
