Not to mention, it's morally wrong. If we can't afford to make sure every kid is fed, people have a roof of their heads and have access to healthcare, then we can't afford billionaires.

I disagree about the billionaires. This is the reason that we are in the mess we're in - Musk can fund a primary against any politician that doesn't fall into line. If we want to save democracy (and capitalism for what it's worth), a 100% tax on wealth above 1bn is needed.

Hell yeah! Another couple of things I think are really important: 1) Pass Bernie's No More Billionaires bill. This solves the root of virtually every problem we have. 2) Fund election campaigns with public money only.

It can't afford for one citizen to horde half a trillion bucks to himself, period! Bernie's No More Billionaires bill is a must if we ever come out of this.

More billionaire math: if Musk's fortune were dissolved and returned to the people of America, that would be over $1200 for each person. If it were weighed more heavily to the poor, say 50% to the bottom 25%, then a family of 4 would receive over $14,000, a life changing amount.

Totally agree with you about sports. Regarding AI, I think this is an opportunity to buck the trend. In a world full of AI noise, be the place where humans write stuff.

To be truly republican about it, you'd have to allocate EVs based on how much a state is contributing financially! That would mean no EVs at all for most red states, since they are net takers.

I absolutely agree, and I think it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for other countries to poach our top researchers and fund them to continue their research at local universities. Once we realize how badly we've screwed up, you can't just turn the funding back on and expect them to return.

The only place where white people have R > 2.1 is in mobile home parks. They don't need transportation, they need investment in education and outreach so there is a future. Free readily available BC would also be good. Glorifying 19 year olds w/ 3 kids and all options already gone is sick.

Just ordered mine too! I feel that there is so much (negative) noise about this issue that it's on us to really educate ourselves. Thanks for writing this, Dr. Turban.

100% with Bernie on this. At $1bn, you can have everything you want - 5th Avenue penthouse, country mansions, a nice yacht, etc. So what is the difference between that and $500bn? Power. The ability to buy elections, buy politicians, etc. So cap it at 1bn and most of our problems go away.

This is so tragic. They obviously see real education as something you purchase at a private school, with the public education system being relegated to a backup basic option for the poor. TX is already well on it's way, having reduced the school week to 4 days in many districts.

I don't think you do business with an out nazi in any way, shape or form. Stop issuing registration for new teslas, and give existing owners a year to turn them in and get re-imbursed. Then flat out ban.
