Frozen ditch in the Broads - was quite a hard frost last night.

And finally, cost. Are we totally broke? No, we saved money - this is a less significant drop than the other two as electricity is quite an expensive way to buy your energy compared to gas or petrol, but still saved.

Next, CO2 emissions. For a two person household to be using less than 1 tonne of CO2 in primary energy consumption is pretty staggering - the tech works!
As above, a stacked column chart. CO2 emissions shown falling in aggregate from just under 3 tonnes to just under 1 tonne in 2025. The car falls from 1 tonne to around 250kg, the heating from 1.5 tonnes to around 500kg, and the other remains both the same at 250kg.

Replaced Gas Boiler with Daiken Heat Pump, replaced Skoda Fabia with Hyundai Ioniq.

First, raw energy. For MJ, *3.6

The 2024 column is 14,000 kWh, with around 4,500 kWh from the car, around 1,900kWh from other, and the remainder from heating. The 2025 column is just under 6,000kWh, with around 1,400 from the car, 2,500 from heat, and 1900 from other.

Today, on numpties of reddit, we have one of the most terrifying transport arrangements you will hear of.
Police incorrectly seized my dads car and reported him to DVLA... what next? england Traffic & Parking Just to explain my mum + me both have full driving licenses her 20+ years and me 8 years, dad has only ever had a provisional license but has always had insurance and always had one of us in the car with him. Years ago my mum used to do all the driving but due to declining health stopped driving and my dad became her carer and started driving her her about. My dad d had problems with the driving test in our area so just gave up since he never drove anywhere without my mum. He owns the car and is fully insured. Last week the police came banging on the window at a really early hour saying my dad had damaged someones car and drove off. Neither he or my mum recall hitting anything but the police said he damaged someones parked car in a supermarket park. Dad said he had no idea, they didnt really give him any details, they just checked my dads license and saw it was a provisional, didnt bother asking, just said he was driving otherwise in accordance of a license and because he was a provisional he wouldnt be covered by insurance so they would also be seizing his car. My dad wasnt even in the car, and always has someone with him including at the same they said it happened. PC didnt care, was really standoff with him and had the car seized. My dad has had to spend nearly a grand in taxis, impound insurance and recovery to get it back, I had to go with him and lose out on trade because my mum couldnt get that far. So: Dad had insurance, a provisional license, and a fully qualified 25yo+ driver in the car with him + had L plates The police have just said theres CCTV of his car doing damage to someone elses parked car in a supermarket Without bothering to ask theyve taken his car and assumed he drove alone with a provisional and thrown everything on top, so hes been reported to the DVLA for insurance, no license and leaving scene of an accident, and he would get a letter at some point Dad out of pocket to recover the car Ive tried looking at the Gov site and as far as I can see he didn't do anything wrong? My dads insurance called him about the claim and told them what happened and they said he couldve got the PCs number and complained What can we do to get the money back? What about the letter, what will be in it and what does he have to go through next? PC did not tell us anything and was just a rude arhsole to him.
