Theres also just so few examples of characters who look like him that are granted the nuance he has. Hes not a good guy but also he is. We see both his failing as well as his good intentions the whole time and how he thinks even while completely fucked up.

dunno if it's cause I'm also a substance guy but he stood out to me the most. I don't think I've ever seen a character with quite his arc (eg "those were the best days of my life")

I've finally gotten to the actual gameplay loop and oh hey THAT'S why people say this is good. I've watched/played quite a few SMT/Persona games and this is by far the most polished version of the combat, it's really quite excellent

at least in Psychonauts it was inception trauma resolution, in P5 it's just like "if we steal their desires they'll stop wanting Bad Things and turn themselves in!! or maybe they'll die but hey, problem solved either way right???"
