You had so many people fighting for workers’ rights, for women’s rights, against racial injustice. People were out there fighting in the streets and in the court room and in Parliament, just like they are now. I love how you can see the parallels, while at the same time it’s a little removed for me as a writer. It’s not like I’m writing about today. I don’t know how people write contemporary romance today.
