Got a reissue of a new-to-me Lee Morgan album which contains music that sounds NOTHING like the cover. It’s always kind of threatening to go completely out with Higgins just going crazy the whole time. Stunner #bluenote #jazz #leemorgan

Didn’t know what to make of this one when I bought it back in 2015. “Soul Surge” is a really strange opener that doesn’t really prepare you for the rest of the record’s hazy modal odysseys. Absolutely loving it these days! Freddie Hubbard RULES!
