“Go slow” is a super important price of advice. Do two or three shifts of shoveling. I used to think it was better just to to push it and get it done and that’s how I wound up with a bulging L5-S1 disk and a whole lot of pain.
uh, hey, so... To all the Americans who will now be contending with lots of snow:

Shoveling is HARD WORK.
Do not force yourself to do it all at once.
Take your time.
Lift with your knees.
Shovel off a top layer and then the bottom layer.
Shovel a narrow path and then the whole sidewalk.
Go slow.
Well… that’s a bunch. #arwx

The only true comas occur in Glasgow. Otherwise they are just “sparkling deep sleep.”

The US granted visas to Jews but only allowed 30,000 in from Germany a year. You had to wait for your number to come up.

Meet Robert Smallbones. An unassuming British diplomat who 'hacked' this system so effectively (saving 48 THOUSAND Jews) the UK government kept his scheme secret for decades /1 🧵

An update on what my vegan daughter is eating while living and working in China.
“I got some hot and sour fruit. I chose nectarines and green mango. I guess the green mango is the one that’s traditionally used. It was a chili salt mix like tajin and a sweet sour plum syrup.”

Cover of the first issue of a national magazine to contain my writing. A few album reviews.
At the time (about 1990) I had been writing for a local newspaper in Lansing, MI for a few years but this was my first time writing for a magazine.
