Ask apologists fur Russia what they think Putin or his successor’s next move would be if they complete the invasion of Ukraine and capture all of the military personnel and military ingenuity that the Ukrainians have built up these last three years? Ask them: what do you suppose his next move is?

I’m in San Antonio Texas where the Mayor, Gina Ortiz Jones, is ex-military; a Democrat; a woman, a Latina; and gay. It can be so hard believing in America nowadays. But some of its leaders - and many of its voters - still inspire you to hang in there, double down and believe in a better tomorrow.

WTF was Starmer actually doing with “Island of Strangers”, then the GB News interview, then the “deep regret” for the phrase? Was it maybe thought through from start to finish? Toss the right a bone, then the left. Hope that satisfies both sides? And hope aggregate support holds up better that way?

Excellent new report out by Recorded Future on threats to submarine cables. Most interesting (and challenging) recommendation is sharing of regional threat intel modelled on how NATO openly shared early threat intel of Russia's imminent plan to invade Ukraine.
