Love this idea
I’m particularly fond of the idea of declaring Trump illegitimate but letting Vance remain because it creates a split that forces Vance to pick between cowardice and ambition. And if he chooses cowardice…ok, we have a line of succession, on to Mike Johnson. Pull the next piece out of the Jenga tower
Another reason why I truly believe that acting with authority and just forcing Republicans to react instead of expecting them to be better would be welcomed by much of the population. Declare January 6th a terrorist attack and say that you’ll only transition to Vance. Rules are what we make them.

Trump has said he will declare a national emergency to use the military to conduct deportations. This is nothing new. The situation is unchanged since his first term and before. This is not an emergency and a waste of our military. This will escalate the chances for people to get hurt.
