Its finally happening.. today my youngest proudly announced that he's had his offer on a house accepted... which is great but ...I'm about to be an empty nester... unsure how I'm feeling to be honest. I'm made up for him but about to have the page turned on the most important chapter of my life.

Currently in Kent on the last leg of our leisurely journey home today. Stayed in the most gorgeous air bnb with gardens to die for last night. Toby has had a ball throughout our French adventure. Definitely on next year's itinerary.

Up with the lark hanging washing out at 6.30, back to bed with tea and toast, closely followed by a drooling labrador who is now hogging said bed forcing me out into the sunshine again... gonna set me french beans and plant cucumbers this morning I think. Happy Sunday 😊

Happy Easter to those celebrating today. Here in the neonatal unit we're expecting the easter bunny, or some unsuspecting junior doctor who will don the costume and brave the heated units! Whatever, everyone is upbeat - hope you all have a lovely peaceful celebration x

Fab weekend in Stoke's Trentham gardens estate with uni pals. Spent Sunday at the best antiques fest ever in Nantwich - highly recommended #DagfieldAntiqueCraftCentre where I picked up this glorious 3ft crocodile candelabra for the bathroom. He's fabulous!

Today I have mostly been putting my seeds in, while the builders finish off inside the house. DPD have 'forgotten'to deliver half of my greenhouse substrate which has p*ssed me off royally, as i can't build it by the weekend. Also missing radiator brackets have cost me another 54 quid. 1/2

Proud Mom alert! After four years of hard work my boy has qualified as an electrician! Now he can keep me in my old age! Fantastic mid concert call last night to say his final results were in and he's passed. Well done son. X

Lying here feeling every second of my 61 yrs, but the satisfaction of producing your own black gold - compost to everyone else- and finally getting it into your veg beds by the barrow load. I ache in places I only imagined still functioned. Now to get the spuds in, and ramp up the seed potting.

What a lovely day, out in the sunshine with Mr F and Toby, relandscaping the working bit of our garden. New greenhouse frame in, shrubs out, veg beds resited,tidy up of greenhouse number 1, might have a burn up later.. The ginger ninja likes lying in fresh soil, he'd better not grow any more..

In other news, it's great to be back behind my desk in tiny town. I've missed the escape of a couple of our long stayers, but it was nice to hear they've rung the bell and are now out there with the big babies. One has gone from 540g to 2.8kg under our care. It's humbling. Go team NICU!

A trip to Shirley to the solicitors and no trawl of the charity shops? I'm gutted. Instead had to sit through a v. dark version of Cinderella, the ballet. An enormous club sandwich pre theatre at the Sly Old Fox, half of which was bought home for the dog, completed the disappointment. Today, Aldi.
