I don’t know of an example of this that anyone else would understand; but smell is such a nostalgia trigger for me that I can catch a whiff of “sitting out by grandmas pool reading magazines” at least once a summer. It’s a complex tangle of scents and sometimes they mix perfectly.
What is the most accurate description of a smell that you've ever heard or read?
I'll start - I once worked in a theatre that had a sewage pipe leak. It was horrible. The director entered the room and loudly exclaimed "it smells like warm, open ass in here." That has remained with me for 20+ years.

I don't like to bring that evil here, but this is a very informative thread about what really happened yesterday in Panama. It's not climate protests, it's not a tired citizen, and it's not being reported. x.com/ddnpandfrens...

Imagine being an adult human being in Chicago and trying to fight the cities efforts to keep other human beings, families, children, from literally freezing to death in the coming months. Imagine thinking "I don't want this to happen"

Parking in Albany Park I’m beginning to see why people go on a rampage. No PARKING signs for THREE WERKS up on four streets in a three block area leaving EXACTLY ONE street for all of us to park on. Brilliant. GREAT WORK #Chicago

One of my favorite parts of pottery is getting to make fun little minis for the holidays. Here we have some bats getting into the mood along with Pumpkins and A Teeny Spooky House

The Onion is funny because it's true. Not to bring the room down but treatment for addiction should not be punitive. These are people feeling the worst they've ever felt in their lives, we can't go back and change it, we can't undo it. But now we need help. Have mercy.
"This clinic offers anyone using drugs a safe place to speak with someone trained to chastise them for their decisions and explain to them how their choices are all their fault."

Saw an ad for the new "Behemoth of The Seas" or whatever the new gigantor cruise ship is called and realized that while every day we stray further from God, we do wander CLOSER to Wall-E's vision for the future.

My 8-month-old, Jaspyrr, when told of the Senator’s passing, solemnly crossed her arms over her chest and intoned “Feinkanda forever.” We were in a diner in rural Kentucky and several soldiers wept while leading the crowd in repeating the gesture, also they all said how handsome I was

Just watched a man on twitter earnestly tell a story of "recently" being caught after dark in "Cabrini Green" in Chicago and how horrifying it was. Of course the last building was torn down nearly 15 years ago.

My Great Aunt wished me a happy birthday this morning stating "You're on The Back Nine Now" which I assume is a funsies sort of way to say "Stay on top of that cholesterol count".

The Dollop episode (part 1) of Elon Musk is Must Listen Level podcasting. They nailed Trump to the wall a few years ago, I expect nothing less from this series.
