Incidentally, Smash Melee is 24 years old which is older than the average splatoon player 🤔😂
But all joking aside, without the grassroots Melee scene (documented in The Smash Bros, if you like hours long vintage YouTube), it's likely Nintendo games outside Pokemon wouldn't have LAN scenes

I know this conversation has gone in circles already but when discussing options for Splatoon LANs, especially events considered majors- talking about SPL running independently- while it's not conceptually impossible, I'm really not liking the disdain expressed for the SSB community in tandem.
