The filmmaking is a little safer than the last movie, but 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is still a phenomenal follow-up with a brilliant group of characters. letterboxd.com/hanzosteel/f...
A ★★★★ review of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026)
28 Years Later stunned me last year. Who knew that a surprise Legacy sequel to two very solid zombie movies from the early aughts would wind up being my favorite movie of 2025? I thought Director Dann...

If they stick the landing, the 28 Years Later trilogy could go down as one of the all time great cinematic trilogies.

More disaster movies should have need follow ups like Greenland: Migration. letterboxd.com/hanzosteel/f...
A ★★★½ review of Greenland 2: Migration (2026)
Greenland: Migration is an extremely rare entry in the very niche subgenre of "Disaster Movie Sequels". Most Disaster movies don't need a sequel because for the characters that survived, once the disa...

YouTube has completely rotted everyone’s brains and made y’all way too damn cynical. That Stranger Things finale was fantastic.

Marty Supreme is a phenomenally unique and original film that is just bursting at the seams with amazing energy. letterboxd.com/hanzosteel/f...
A ★★★★½ review of Marty Supreme (2025)
When people complain that Hollywood doesn't make original films anymore, you can immediately point to this as a perfect example that they do actually. Marty Supreme is a wildly unique and original tal...

Avatar: Fire and Ash is essentially The Way of Water Part Two, but I don't care, I still absolutely adore these movies. letterboxd.com/hanzosteel/f...
A ★★★★½ review of Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025)
It's sort of crazy how much I love these movies. When the first one came out, I sort of resisted it in some lame attempt to be cool. It was that hipster thinking of disliking something that was so unb...

So many people complaining about “hIsToRiCaL aCcUrAcY” for the fucking Odyssey of all things, but my hot take is that I’m bored by the minimalist approach and Nolan should have pushed the weirdness further! Fill the frame with crazy shit, not just emptiness!
Official trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ ⚔️

Some of these Boutique Blu-ray labels need a suggestion box. Who at Vinegar Syndrome do we need to get a hold of to figure out how to get a release for Mirageman or Black Sheep or Shadow of the Vampire?! Or who at Arrow do we talk to about getting the Taxi or Roundup or Admiral series released?!

Zootopia 2 is a fun movie, but the plot going for more of an Adventure angle rather than being another Buddy Cop story was a bigger bummer than I was expecting. letterboxd.com/hanzosteel/f...
A ★★★½ review of Zootopia 2 (2025)
I loved the first Zootopia for a couple of reasons. I thought that the characters were wonderful, the city of Zootopia was breathtaking and demanded a docuseries exploring the ins and outs, and that t...

As someone who thought Wicked: Part I was shockingly phenomenal, I thought Wicked: For Good was shockingly bad. letterboxd.com/hanzosteel/f...
A ★½ review of Wicked: For Good (2025)
This was an absolute disaster and I'm honestly shocked. The first Wicked was in my Top 10 of 2024 so I was ecstatic to see the finale. But I guess Wicked: For Good was always doomed to fail? Supposedl...

Predator: Badlands continuing a trend of old school, pulpy, retro B-movie title cards is just one of the many things about it that rules.

First episode of It: Welcome to Derry was WAY better than I was expecting. It felt way more like the phenomenal Chapter 1 rather than the disappointing Chapter 2.

A ★★★½ review of One Battle After Another (2025)
