But what if he just set us up for a barn burner of a primary season and then a new generation of leaders? That's what I am hoping for (and voting for)

Imagine if we had just one Dakota but PR was a state.

They were literally showing this all through a DC scoring drive. I missed the actual TD because I had to look away so much

Seriously...ruining this drive 😭

PS: OK no, I'm seeing elsewhere in the thread that he did indeed mean the Enabling Act in 1933. But he also acknowledges where Hindenburg was one of the elites who failed to stop the madness. There's a few milestones, but yes, it's also true that we DO have guardrails still. I appreciate that.

I thought he meant 2 August 1934, when Hindenburg died and the cabinet passed a new law overnight to merge the offices of president and chancellor. That removed the last barrier to total power, and it's when the military began swearing personal loyalty to Hitler. But that's just my best guess.

I know autocorrect does lots of awful things to folks, but the "Third Richt" part is really really cringe

We could co-organize a Kalamazoo session on it?

Ohhh, you mean your friends asked you to chant...I thought the Cloisters asked you to chant and that had me wondering if there was some sort of special event!
November 8, 2025 at 8:03 PM
Aww, you guys, I went to the Getty and they actually have this guy on view in their lovely exhibition on travel in the Middle Ages! 🐘🐘🐘
November 8, 2025 at 6:52 PM
Wait, what? It's an art museum and there's usually no chanting, so I am really curious to know how this story ends!

How did I not know this about Nightwing? Wondering if I can use this info to score points with my kids 🤔

I do think, on some level, that people are being extra nice because Liz chose democracy over maga, and basically fell on her sword to do it. I mean, I still think dignified silence would have been better than weird attempts to say nice things, but that's my best guess at the motivation.

I don't know, I am really really enjoying the many creative ways in which people are dreaming of retaking the house. We are suddenly fully halfway from 2024 to 2026 and I am here for it 🌊

Exactly. And too your point, it's a good sign for Ossoff and many other races with huge consequences.

I understand, but Ossoff and Warnock were elected by GA voters for positions in DC. The original post is simply saying these are the first Dem wins for state-level jobs in GA (as opposed to federal-level jobs in DC). Just trying to explain.
November 5, 2025 at 1:56 AM
Those are federal level

Someone described it as "heads I win, tails you lose" during the first term and I have never forgotten it

Demonstrating total inability to read the room (or, might as well just admit they are in a different room from their voters)

Um, Bergen has red parts but also deep blue parts. Hackensack is the seat of Bergen County.

This is the main reason we voted early on the first day. We always bring the kids and knew it would be safer in October. How profoundly sad to have to think this way, in America, the place our ancestors came to because they wanted freedom.
