They are rapidly catching up to Novo Nordisk, but they still don't have remotely enough capacity to fill the gap if Ozempic/Wegovy is suddenly withdrawn from the US market. There'll be huge shortages if that happens.

With all this video you could produce an accurate 3D reconstruction of the shooting. The shooter's cell phone photage is particularly helpful and should allow you to locate the phone position relative to the car within of a few inches. Hopefully you have someone working on that.

Ella Cook was one of the two beautiful young people who senselessly lost their lives in the Brown University shooting on Saturday. The other one was a young man named Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov. Also, it wouldn't kill you to show the dead some respect.

The other Brown victim apparently isn't is part of 'us'. But I'm sure that's a simple oversight and not at all related to the fact that his name was Mukhammad Aziz Umurzukov.

This 2018 report counts ~770,000 muslims in NYC proper, and it's probably grown since then:

Suffering of the weakest is the end game. So that the billionaires can have when more than they already have. This is OK because the because the poor and downtrodden are undeserving of help.

Wouldn't that first require them to be capable of being embarrassed....

Our side spent this time paying consultants to buy TV ads. Change is belatedly happening, but unfortunately we have a long way to go, and it will take years to catch up. But at least we are no longer asleep.

Dems can't get picked up in social & independent media the way Republicans can due to their spending the last 15 years methodically building a huge ecosystem of influencers, podcasters, trained supporters etc that amplify the message. This has given them an enormous information superiority.

Alaska is not Russian. Yet.

Is a Star Wars reference. That doesn't make the statement any less true, though.

The debt brake vote wasn't secret. Anyone voting against the party line there would have been forced to deal with some very public condemnation and face the risk of being thrown out of their party altogether.

Apparently the Bundesdag votes for chancellor are secret!?! That's totally fricking insane! Can someone please explain the thinking behind letting elected representative hide one of their most consequential votes from their voters?

To be fair, Trump does have some redeeming qualities—he is old, lazy, ignorant, utterly unfocused, and profoundly stupid. Seriously, this is a not insignificant part of what will save us in the end.

Don't worry about it, and don't take it down. Who knows, someone might find the conversation informative.

There's a separate question of whether what the judge did is good judicial ethics, and if not, she could be disciplined by the Wisconsin courts. But that is not any of the federal government's business.
April 25, 2025 at 10:18 PM
In general, states cannot be compelled to enforce federal laws. States cannot obstruct enforcement by federal agents either, but the judge here acted on her own initiative, not a state policy. And like Sam said, that's not a crime without a judicial warrant.
April 25, 2025 at 10:18 PM
That's backwards. Prigg v Penn. actually held that states could *not* offer legal sanctuary to escaped slaves because that would be contrary to the federal Fugitive Slaves Act (and the Fugitive Slaves Clause of the Constitution, which was later abolished by the 13th amendment.)

Well, both of course. They're not mutually exclusive. I'd go as far as to say they reinforce is each other.

Many “savvy” folks argue protests can’t work. Evidence suggests otherwise.

“Muslim ban set off a fury of protests across US, garnering tremendous media attention and discussion… Portraying ‘Ban’ at odds with inclusive elements of American identity prompted some citizens to shift their attitudes…”
A Change of Heart? Why Individual-Level Public Opinion Shifted Against Trump’s “Muslim Ban” - Political Behavior
Public opinion research suggests that rapid and significant individual-level fluctuations in opinions toward various policies is fairly unexpected absent methodological artifacts. While this may gener...

Huge deal, if confirmed. Lapin is the chief of staff for the Russian ground forces. He was one of the main commanders during the invasion in 2022 and has played a starring role in the war since then.

Meant as snark, but too close to home to actually be funny. Luckily, formal declarations of war are the sole domain of Congress. So it would take more than just lobbing some bombs across the border.
