trying to make friends in a new city but it's hard with limited energy, time, and mobility; i also feel like my old ways of meeting people and being in relationship have ossified in the last many pandemic years, still trying to find new ways of intimacy that account for capacity and robust care.

also as if life is bereft of meaning without restaurants! going back in time to tell my childhood self unfortunately since we didn't go out to eat except on rare occasions because of poverty nullifies anything important that might have happened outside those spaces. the whole thing is ludicrous.

I used to get furious seeing these takes—esp. since their normalization and proliferation has contributed to vast misinformation and material harm—but to be honest I've seen them so much over the last 5 years that I don't have energy to engage except to say lol wow you're soooo edgy, get a life!!!

discord mostly, a couple small servers with pals and then ones like the coop discord (but honestly moves too fast for me). i've started writing emails again and snail mail when i can manage. i get so behind on texts, socials, etc., but voice chat or quiet chat in discord helps me feel connected.

she is such a little princess with all of the extravagant impatience. if one thing is off in her schedule she will riot. I want so badly to put her in little pink hats or collars with bows but I fear I would lose a hand before she'd accept anything on her head but kisses.

if it's past 10pm she will go stand by the stairs, look at us, look at the stairs, and then meow. she is a creature of habit and a creature who must have her treats and songs.
