Being vindicated is the pessimist's consolation prize for not being surprised.

Valuing privacy over networking, for the time being.
Honestly, if we get serious about building up our defense industry, that will at least give them the satisfaction we're finally taking them seriously.

That's a better basis for negotiations than what we've been doing the last four years.

I saw it coming earlier, but this was the point of no return for me.

That was an exasperating read. Doubly so because I fully realize, any unsolicidated 'advice' I feel compelled to offer runs the risk of making me part of the problem, not the solution.

So I'll just say I recognize what a dilemma this is, and that anyone who's been there has my full sympathy.

Shoot, a gal could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.

I only saw the first season. Laurie was good as always, and I found it passably amusing. Not as good as The Thick of It, though.

I guess since the Russian invasion, I don't have as much an attention span left for fiction.

Avenue 5?

I'm not really in the loop anymore, though.

The biggest problem is there was no appropriately urgent push for defense industrial mobilization in the West. Once you are growing your stockpiles, you can still manage red lines by deciding what and when and how much to send to Ukraine. But to shift Russia's calculus, you need to outproduce them.
