Big fan of reading (literary fiction, historical fiction, memoirs, anything to do with circuses or lighthouses...), and going to gigs and the theatre.
- “Cat Lady” by Dawn O’Porter. I really enjoy her books. They’re always very funny and a little bit twisted.
- “Everyone in my family has killed someone” by Benjamin Stevenson. Hmm - this was ok, but I didn’t love it.
- “The Radleys” by Matt Haig. Anyone watched the TV show? Is it any good?

Some more scribbles of books I’ve read recently:

“Morgan is my Name” by @sophiekeetchauthor.bsky.social - a great, feminist Arthurian tale. I re-read this book recently, ready to start the second in the series “Le Fay” soon.

The third book in my drawing challenge (and my favourite to draw so far) - “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt

As part of my “draw what you’ve read” challenge, here’s the second book I read this year - The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O’Farrell. I didn’t fancy drawing the actual front cover, so went for a portrait that inspired the main character instead.

My challenge for 2025 is to draw a pic for every book I read. Here was my first read (and drawing) of 2025. “Sisters of Fire and Fury” by Laura Bates. Feminist retelling of Arthurian Legend. What’s not to love?

Look at my gorgeous new hardbacks. I’ve already read “Morgan is My Name” by @sophiekeetchauthor.bsky.social but am re-reading it again before starting “Le Fay”
