Thanks to @compassoffice.bsky.social for having me last night, speaking alongside @jydenham.bsky.social & @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social on why I think Labour needs the moral courage to do things simply because they’re the right thing to do, and how we should embrace the broad church.

Genuinely hope-filled first day of #Lab25 conference, with the
@chrleft.bsky.social church service, Catholics for Labour mass at the cathedral, hearing @albomp.bsky.social speak, and a panel on faith in development with amazing partners. More of this please!

Had a brilliant day at the Faith Museum in Bishop Auckland yesterday, as part of our upcoming @theosthinktank.bsky.social @culhamstgabriel.bsky.social report on where religious education happens beyond the classroom. I especially enjoyed this display of teetotal propaganda...

On "liberation day", whatever that will come to mean for the world, it felt hopeful & prophetic to be in a packed committee room in parliament for the @chrleft.bsky.social Tawney Dialogue last night, discussing where we are twenty years on from Make Poverty History.

Incredible scenes in the @chrleft.bsky.social post bag this week as someone has sent me this membership recruitment leaflet from c.1995 - I think we could do far worse than this as a slogan for 2025 too.

Brilliant (but dreich) weekend in Glasgow catching up with lovely Scottish @chrleft.bsky.social members, some inspiring fringes on energy & poverty, and powerful speeches from Anas Sarwar and the PM. These islands, like this movement, are truly better together.

A real pinch-me honour to be here tonight for the PM’s Advent reception, celebrating all that churches and Christians do for this country and in the party.

Really pleased to see our new @theosthinktank.bsky.social report on churches' response to the 2024 riots mentioned in the House of Lords debate on social cohesion last week - by the ABY and here by the Bishop of Lichfield.

If you're the party conference type, this church service is my genuine highlight every year and I'm so excited for us to be hosting it again in a couple of weeks. All welcome!

Living my best conference life, up early for a radio chat about religion & politics and a Maccies breakfast before church.
