The Kurdistan Region is experiencing more frequent wildfires, fuelled by climate change. This summer, two people tragically lost their lives fighting a fire near Halabja. One of them was Ari. His brother, Bilal, kindly shared his story with me.

The lovely Dr Farhad Khudur has discovered a new moth in the Kurdistan Region. He named it after the poet Mahwi who frequently used moths as metaphors in his poetry. 💚
