Last night’s Ooni pizza experiments:

1. Leftover dim sum: Chinese broccoli, corn slivers, onions, mushrooms.
2. Smoked salmon, corn, burrata, and heirloom tomatoes.

Passed this billboard on East Colfax in Denver today. “Greetings from Rocky Mountain National Park. | Now with reduced staff, made possible by D.O.G.E.”

The 404 page of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website brought me joy this morning.

Chappell Roan has the best crossover hit between the genres “toddler” and “bachelorette party” with Pink Pony Club, so now I’d love her to make another based on this “KISS ‘N’ GO” sign at our elementary school.

I don’t understand why the train to/from Denver airport is always empty. It’s cleaner, cheaper, and faster than the car share app situation.

Insert joke about designers always wearing all black

I loved these paragraphs from @rickrubin.bsky.social‘s “The Creative Act: A Way of Being” about the difference between criticizing your work vs. criticizing yourself. One is useful for progress and one is paralyzing.

The amazing Denver recreation center I live near, along with the network of gyms it’s associated with, make me feel like I live in Europe. It’s very inexpensive compared to typical gyms, government-run, high quality, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed.

I get nervous about where to put cute stickers so I keep them unstuck in a stack on my desk.

Anywho, I got some fun stickers from Webflow in the mail, including a couple that I helped design!

Learned how to clean it. Calcium carbonate and…soy sauce. 😬 Was pretty nervous but really happy with the result so far.

My kids received a few exciting packages in the mail today, including one postcard from their pen pal in Australia, and their first lettering book by @jessicahische.bsky.social.

Almost finished with my {very imperfect} Philip Morley Lounge Chair. I took his class two years ago at the Austin School of Furniture, and finally had the time to complete the last few steps. Phil is a great human and woodworker, and I feel honored to have learned a bit of his craft from him.

In 1929, my great-grandmother designed this Intalgio plate as a printing block for her 8th grade yearbook at PS99 in Brooklyn. I’m going to make some prints with it, so I’ll accept any advice as I’m a total novice in this art form.

This weekend I finally got back to building my Philip Morley Lounge Chair after a two-year hiatus (pregnancies, surgeries, life). It feels so stressful to complete that last 1% of a project where there’s so much to mess up, so I’m looking forward to getting the final few steps finished 🤞

But today @kylelambert.bsky.social dressed up as Boss Ross for a hackathon presentation, so I got to tell my kid that I met “Bob the artist” at work today, who he thinks is this guy from one of his fav books 👇🏼 and man, the kid was cracking up that Bob came to my work today.

A few weeks ago, I gave a talk at Webflow Conf London. For this trip, I brought along my 3 yo kid and 85 yo grandfather. They adventured around London while I was at work. Seeing my kid and his great grandpa travel the world together was such a magical experience I’ll never forget. 🥰

After 2 hip surgeries, I finally took my first 30-minute run in about 3 years. It was awful, but in the normal way that running is awful. Grateful to be able to hate running again.
