Chahta, Oklahoman, old crank. Please remember to close the gate or the sheep will get loose.
It's wild how Gen AI has absolutely tilted the signal-to-noise ratio so far to the right, after years of more and more noise coming through from almost entirely human sources and just being magnified by bots. The next ten years of surviving on the net will depend on finding pockets of sanity.

Should I list on my resume that I'm not a robot, or is that exactly what a robot would say?

Necro-Nancy (1997): Suburban mom Nancy uses necromancy to manage her hectic life, but when a rival necromancer running a used car dealership begins to threaten her community, she organizes the occult members of her neighborhood to fight back. Rated PG-13 for gore and violence.

I'm intrigued by crime but I don't want to do anything that hurts my community or innocent people or society in general. Does anyone have any suggestions? Open to stealing paintings from rich people but no experience

So, I may have been laid off for Gen AI.

Over the last couple years, a lot of folks from my department have been laid off. We did L3 / L4 support for big storage appliances / solutions. While these layoffs have been going on, the company I worked for has been ramping up a generative AI tool.

Remember when Star Trek TNG had a chief engineer played by Levar Burton and then tried to convince us that no women were interested in him

I read an article today about something called "Dark Mango Psychology" and I've gotten old enough that youth culture is completely impenetrable

One of my favorite things about living in Oklahoma is how anyone even slightly left of center needs to say “Now I’m not socialist, but” before talking about class warfare

My (large tech company) employer is doing yet another round of layoffs this week. The anxiety of wondering if I’m in the next batch is killing me. Fortunately the economy is in great shape to look for another job in my niche field.

Just a quick reminder for fellow millennials: if Trump and Musk kill Social Security, there is a higher risk of your parents trying to move in with you

The Trump Administration is ignoring court orders and trying to get SCOTUS to let them ignore the 14th amendment so we probably all need to know where our lines in the sand are, and which machines to put your shoes into.

Why the fuck is Trump so determined to keep parents away from their children?
He’s an honest to God pulp novel villain.
US ‘deletes evidence’ of Russia’s kidnap of thousands of Ukrainian children
Researchers at Yale University had been compiling database of alleged Russian war crimes, including abduction of up to 35,000 children

Honestly torn on whether to finish CDIB paperwork for my kids’ Choctaw Nation citizenship or whether it’s better that they aren’t explicitly on the BIA’s radar

It breaks my heart that the law of the land is being twisted by segregationists and wanna-be slave drivers, but the good news is that people are waking up and realizing they don’t want silver-spoon motherfuckers with apartheid-nostalgia to take over our country without a fight.

I love that workers and consumers are organizing and working together to absolutely crash Tesla stock. I think billionaires have gotten to ride above the Churn of economic hardship for a long time. But it won’t actually change the system, and even Elon won’t lose everything.

One of the problems with modern American lifestyle capitalism is that it breaks down communities. I don’t think it does so intentionally, but it definitely exploits and exacerbates the issue. The cure is fighting for community and building networks with people who have similar values.

Chuck Schumer is a yellow-bellied coward and if any Democrat wants my vote in 2026 they had better be voting to remove him and outspoken and getting him out of the minority leader role. Absolute dogshit work by Democratic leadership.

Let’s be clear: the Dept. of Ed. provides resources to 26 million children living in high-poverty school districts; Pell Grants to over 7 million students; & funding for millions of children with disabilities.

Closing its doors would be a disaster for working class families.

Man, who could have predicted that Trump would crash the economy by doing exactly the shit he promised to do during his campaign

It’s too bad democrats are so determined to hold the moral high ground and so committed to losing the goddamn war.
