This is how it feels to play Quest 64 on a handheld

That's fair! Having watched a great many folks play it, for most it's just a dash of Cube, which is why I put it there.

Damn, that explains why no amount of searching got me the original to credit it properly, I probably got it fifth-hand or smth

It's a phenomenal game, thank you for your hard work in making it!

A little bit Enpoisoned so it hits, a little bit Misty Cube for the sickos

Good shout, Nubby could be the most Pumpy game yet that didn't feature cozy lofi animal farming, although I suppose Nubby is at least 10% Misty Cube

It would be An Experience, but not every Experience is valuable lol

For more complex spaces, you can map out 'doors' listing reqs to reach them, rather than reqs to open them (esp if you have one-way gates).
The randomizer 'spheres' metaphor is handy; a player starts in the center of concentric multi-gated circles, and each outward circle contains reqs for the next.

Bit delayed, though folks have posted lots of cool resources - it depends a lot on your systems. At the simplest level, you isolate regions that are gated by keys that always appear before they're needed. You avoid softlocks by working backwards from the end to ensure reundancy of keys or abilities.

Been a grip since I've seen one of these! I loved asking folks which demon they wanted to take home.

AotK is great. There's one line in this game that'll stick with me for a long time, and it's a throwaway joke which is always a great sign for the rest of the writing imo
