Mahmoud has cancer and lives in a neighborhood cut off from the rest of Jerusalem by the Separation Wall. The military bars him from using a checkpoint that would allow him to reach the hospital quickly. Seriously ill residents must be allowed to use this easier passage: hamoked.org/document.php...

HaMoked petitioned the HCJ to have the military and Israel Police allow all Palestinian permanent residents of Israel who live in as-Sawahira ash-Sharqiya, located within Jerusalem but on the other side of the Separation Barrier, to travel by car via Sawahira checkpoint.

The Knesset just passed a law further restricting Palestinian family unification. Now, Israeli authorities are mandated to deny family unification to extended family members of Palestinians accused of "terrorism."

HaMoked petitioned the HCJ to stop this discriminatory law from coming into force.

Upholding EU values requires a principled stance.

Limiting EU review of Israel solely to humanitarian access sends a dangerous message that other severe and urgent violations of international law will be tolerated, allowing them to continue unchecked.

According to Israel Prison Service data provided to HaMoked, Israel holds 10,762 Palestinian “security” prisoners and detainees. Over 55% of them are being held without charge or trial.

As of June 2025, the Israel Prison Service holds 1,447 "security" prisoners; 3,174 "security" detainees; and 3,562 administrative detainees held without trial. Israel also holds 2,214 Palestinians as "unlawful combatants."

In April, HaMoked wrote to the Military Advocate General to reconsider Israel’s policy of detaining Gaza Palestinians as “illegal aliens” in the West Bank and forcibly transferring them to Gaza, which is in violation of Israeli and international law.

Three families have received notices on the intention of the Ministry of Interior to deport a family member.

In response to a HaMoked petition, in January the State informed it would make permanent the sweeping ban on entry of farmers into the “Seam Zone,” which has been in place for 18 months.

In January, HaMoked wrote to the Israel Prison Service to demand the renewal of family visits to Palestinian “security prisoners.” The implementation of the ban for over a year and on an indefinite basis is unlawful and disproportionate collective punishment.
