In some prisons, lawyer–client meetings are limited to 20 minutes. Prison officials eavesdrop and even read affidavits we take from detainees — a blatant breach of confidentiality. Clients have become fearful to speak openly with their legal counsel.

Kafr Aqab residents with serious illnesses are currently not permitted to go through the al-Jib checkpoint. Instead, they must choose from checkpoints that are extremely crowded, plagued with long lines, and closed without warning.

HaMoked petitioned the HCJ to have the military and Israel Police allow all Palestinian permanent residents of Israel who live in as-Sawahira ash-Sharqiya, located within Jerusalem but on the other side of the Separation Barrier, to travel by car via Sawahira checkpoint.

The Knesset just passed a law further restricting Palestinian family unification. Now, Israeli authorities are mandated to deny family unification to extended family members of Palestinians accused of "terrorism."

According to Israel Prison Service data provided to HaMoked, Israel holds 10,762 Palestinian “security” prisoners and detainees. Over 55% of them are being held without charge or trial.
