I'm sorry to hear this David, but you're handling it like a champ.

I hope you'll enjoy these very different pictures: A Bald Eagle near Acadia National Park, and a Flame Skimmer Dragonfly at Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch, near Fort Davis in southwest Texas.

Best wishes.

I like this picture, but what I thought at first was a reflection from the bird turned out to be a Ruffles potato chip bag in the water.

The King of the Backyard on his perch guarding the feeders. Ruby - throated Hummingbird. It was a gray, misty day, so he's puffed up for warmth.

On Saturday I took pictures at Hagerman NWR on Lake Texoma. Migration's begun, with some American Pelicans and Canada Geese already at the refuge. Beautiful day, lovely reflections.

I think Grackles always have a bad attitude, including this one who's just grabbed a peanut from the feeder. Best seen in full size.

Your view sounds like heaven (or "almost heaven"). I sit in my chair and take pictures through the window, but I've been known to venture outside for butterflies. Ruby - throated Hummingbird and Tiger Swallowtail (my wife's favorite butterfly).

I think this Cardinal is particularly beautiful. I love the feathers on his back.

We're thrilled that a Roadrunner couple has moved in next door. This one has been visiting our yard in the last week. I was only able to catch him on his way out of the yard, but check out the crest. The last picture puts me in mind of a traditional Native American headdress.
