One of my favorite sunset / sunrise tricks - if you can draw a line in the sky between the moon and the sun, that’s the plane of the solar system!

Yes their nuclear physics made great progress (Tsar Bomba; but see Chernobyl), and so did missiles and some engineering and a few other fields. But compare Soviet science and technology to US science and tech over same period. The huge difference comes from openness, freedom, and public investment.

It’s an absolute tragedy. Irma a good time to remind people that the board that usually studies serious workplace harm like this in the US is currently being shut down by this administration.

I believe it will be similar to what we’ve already seen, but to a more extreme degree. Fewer voting locations in areas with high democratic polling. Everyone will “technically” be able to vote, but it’ll be absolutely impractical for Trump’s enemies.
